  • EUR 2.20 per TU = EUR 220.00 per month (TU = tuition unit/lesson)
    The subsidised integration course will cost EUR 2.20 per tuition unit. (Recipients of social welfare benefits or unemployment benefits II can apply to Linguaviva Dortmund for exemption from costs.)
  • Additional costs of EUR 80.00 max. for textbooks and exercise books may be incurred during the course.

Basic Language Course for Beginners

The basic language course consists of three modules with 100 teaching units (TU) each. You will learn the vocabulary for all important areas of life and the work environment.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Situations in everyday life such as shopping
  • Social contacts with friends and neighbours
  • Social contacts on public transport
  • Contacts with authorities and when looking for a flat
  • Leisure activities

Advanced Language Course for Advanced Learners

The advanced language course consists of three modules with 100 teaching units (TU) each. You will practise the correct use of familiar and new vocabulary and become confident in using German grammar and language.

Additional topics covered:

  • Writing letters in German
  • Filling out forms
  • Making telephone calls
  • Applying for a job
  • Conducting a job interview
  • Socialising with people from other cultures

Our dedicated staff member Mrs. Weber has been the key person responsible for "Learning German in Dortmund" for many years. Besides organisational tasks, she also advises participants on the choice of modules and on all questions regarding subsidy schemes.
